The Gobi desert in southern Mongolia is growing at an alarming rate.
Desert sands are spreading, not only toward the fertile grasslands and forests
to the north, but even as far as Ulaanbaatar, the nation's capitol. Researchers
have predicted that the entire nation of Mongolia is in danger of becoming a
desert within the next 25 years. Truly, this is a global concern, since such a
catastrophe would threaten the habitat of countless species of plants and
animals, displace millions of Mongolian people and destroy Mongolia's culture
and economy. |

|
Our mission is to help to prevent the sand from moving northward by
planting as many trees as possible in Mongolia. We are a very small group with
limited resources. Every person counts in this noble mission, and your help
could make a big difference in preserving the world’s precious environment. No
experience is necessary, just a willingness to come to Mongolia and physically
participate. | |
